On the front cover of the July issue is the IWC Ingenieur Constant-Force Tourbillon! The Ingenieur is a model first created in the early ’50’s to combat magnetism in wristwatches.
“The case is a composite of ceramic and platinum. The 4-day movement drives a tourbillon with an on-board constant force device, not unlike Derek Pratt’s, rewinding once per second, presenting the tourbillon with a jumping dead seconds feature. A moon phase dial with mirrored displays for southern and northern hemispheres sits opposite the power reserve indicator.” p291.
